Mid week love

001

Hi Friends! Sorry I am just posting this week!  My schedule has seemed to have gotten the best of me!  The weekend is almost here Smile so I hope you’re all staying dry from the rain.  I hope it’s going to stop soon!!

Today has been pretty productive and def got my to-do’s crossed off the list! Look who helped me with the laundry.

You guys know I love him!!

So many of you know that I am capable of blending up and juicing up odd looking things and I have been known to drink them post yoga.  You’re probably one making the face saying “Ewww what is that?!” because it’s green and brown looking.  lol

SMOOTHIES!!!!!!!!  SMOOTHIE LOVE!

I cringe when I see my twin M buying hers from gym after we take zumba- mainly because you can make it yourself and it’s healthier!!!! Gahh! Maybe she will listen now because I’m posting this online.  M I love you <3 .

**Disclaimer: I am not a registered dietician, certified nutritionist, or healthcare professional.  The following is based solely on my personal opinion and choice.**

Here are some tips:

My real opinion is this: GO TO TRADER JOE’S- everything is cheaper Smile

Pick your protein powder:

008

These are not your only options! There’s brown rice protein, whey (which has dairy in it), pea protein, as well as other combinations.  You don’t necessarily need the powder, however, it will give you more energy after your workout and make it more filling.  You can typically use 1 scoop per smoothie.

Pick your liquid of choice:

009

Again there are other options: Rice milk, hemp milk, cow’s dairy milk, fruit juice, etc.  I normally roll with almond.  I’d say generally use 1 cup per smoothie.

Extras:

OK so I didn’t take pics of everything but a lot of the time I will add a scoop of nut butter, avocado, cacao nibs, ground flax meal, oats, and then you can make it a bit sweeter by adding a dash of honey, maple syrup, or stevia if you like.  Obviously don’t add all of those things together lol

007

Here’s the one I made today after I did some yoga courtesy of YogaGlo

Ingredients:

1 scoop vanilla soy protein powder

1 cup light coconut milk

6 frozen strawberries

6 pieces of frozen mango

1 banana

2 handfuls of spinach (they were kind of small as I didn’t have a ton left)

BLENDDDDDD and DRINK!

Pour in your fav glass and slurp (or eat with a spoon) and slurlp away.  I’m telling you it tastes like creamy goodness- and won’t hurt your stomach because there’s no dairy in there! Smile

And then people say- “Ohhhhh you got that at Starbucks?” and you just say “No- I made it myself, thank you.” Smile  If you make some tell me your creations.  I’d love to hear them!

    Hey Camille!

Love your blog. I also love smoothies.

My favorite: vanilla pea protein, 1 banana, 1/2 c. almond milk, 1/2 c. coconut milk, handful of raw almonds, handful of spinach, handful of blueberries. mmm.

a new delicious addition I discovered is coconut flour (!!) it has a ton of fiber and tastes like summer :)

Yum! I love mango in smoothies.

My fave “pretend its a frap from starbucks” smoothie: 1c almond milk, 1 frozen banana, handful spinach, ice, 1T peanut butter, 1T dutch processed cocoa, pinch xanthan gum, and 1 package instant coffee. Of course you can leave the coffee out and it is still delish.

SunWarrior is the all time BEST protein powder and it’s raw and vegan. You have to order it online but it’s totally worth it!

I am in the market for a blender cause I am a smoothie fan as well – stop in to Shapiro’s next week and I will make you one! (although we don’t have fancy protein powder) Lately I enjoyed a carrot, orange, strawberry, soy one.

    Your cat is cute :)

I will miss your classes this week but am going to take some classes while I am in NM…do you know any teachers there?
