Since I’ve blogged- I know. Womp, womp.
But life has been good!! Hi Lisa!!
How are things with you guys?? I’d love to know. We have had a earthquake- one in which for the 20 seconds it lasted I thought I was going to loose my life, and a hurricane- which I pretty much stayed inside and watched bad tv all day and night.
Thanks to the higher powers of the universe, I didn’t loose power or water! But I did spend a bunch of money like all the other crazy people in a panic at the grocery store…and the wine store. Hehehe. I’ve been working and feeling the surges of busyness coming on as summer comes to and end. I am actually sitting amidst a bunch of calendars and to-do lists right now, but things are getting checked off and like I said:
Life is GOOD! Meowwww!
Over the last week I’ve met with these guys:
and
Ryan R. (Ladies, I know he’s eye candy so don’t even start!)
They’re my guys from Inside Lacrosse Magazine! Both named Ryan and they’re roommates!
Did you see my article??
So exciting!! I met with Ryan R again to get some pics taken for their website! Love him to death and I am so happy that I am getting to work with them. I will let you know when things are up online.
I also fell in love last week. With this:
Do you know what this is? BASIL ICE CREAM! I know what you’re thinking- how can that possibly be good? But I swear to you- it is AMAZING! Nurse Leicht and I went to Woodberry Kitchen on Friday night and as always, we were not disappointed.
And since I was so inquisitive about how you can even possibly make basil flavored ice cream, I got to meet the pastry chef himself!
Very Exciting. If you have yet to go to Woodberry- you HAVE to go! They’re always very packed so you make a reservation 4 weeks in advance. I’m not joking. If you don’t know about Woodberry- here’s some info from their website:
From Farm to Table
Woodberry Kitchen features the seasonal best from local growers and emphasizes organic meats and sustainable agriculture. Our goal is to nourish and delight our guests with cooking grounded in the traditions of the Chesapeake region.
Did I mention the Chris and I walked away a pint of basil ice cream…for free? I must be a special lady.

The hardest thing about saying yes to the universe is that it means accepting everything life puts in front of us…When we affirm this, we enter into a state of trust that whatever our situation is, we can work with it…We express confidence in ourselves and the universe, we also express a willingness to learn from whatever comes our way, rather than running and hiding when we do not like what we see…The first step to saying yes is realizing that in the end it is so much easier than the alternative. Once we understand this, we can begin examining the moments when we resist what is happening and experiment with occasionally yielding instead. It might be scary at first, and even painful at times, but if we continue to say yes to every moment through the process, we will discover the joy of being in a positive conversation with a force much bigger than ourselves. ~Madisyn Taylor
