Friends, friends, 123

5 Aug

Hey there! How’s everyone’s week been? Things have been pretty bueno over here.  I am getting ready to go to the beach for a week with the family and I cannot wait.  I have not gone on vacation in a forever!  We go to Delaware to a beach that I have gone to pretty much every year growing up.  I’m very excited.  And I will get to see this guy:

This is Mace(that’s not his real name of course Smile) and we have know each other since I was 14 at Unitarian Church camp!  This pic is from last year on his 30th birthday and he will be with me on my 29th. We have known each other for so long and I am just really looking forward to spending time together.

So freaking excited.  Yay!

Annnnyyyways- I spent last weekend doing a lot of this:

And since I’m such a good friend-I’ve been helping my girl Chris Leicht organize her entire apartment! I love to clean!

I think I may start my own organization business.  Is your closet a wreck? I will help you.  But you have to be ready to part with the clutter!

Yes we had some wine while organizing her entire living room, kitchen, and massive hallway closet- all while sweating profusely.

I love being organized.  Honestly- I used to be extremely messy.  Anyone who knows me knows that my room used to be a wreck.  Growing up, you couldn’t even see the floor and I used to just throw the clothes and everything else on the floor.  I know that’s so bad, but within the last six months I have become a total neat freak.  I love giving away things I don’t use to friends, to goodwill, to whoever, and having things in order.  Use what you have and get rid of what you don’t! Honestly, it feels soooooo good.

I will post some after pics when everything is neat and tidy but I am sooo proud of her for getting of rid of things! Clutter is not good for anyone!

**Something to talk about**

So I really don’t like to get into too many touchy subjects here on the blog, but I’ve talked about  my goals before and one of them is to be authentic in everything I do.  That includes, my work as a yoga teacher, with my friends, family, and anyone I encounter in my life.

One of the things that I truly pride myself on is BEING MYSELF.  Funny, quirky, kind, loving…and as a yoga teacher, I love to bring those qualities to students in my class.  I play the music that moves me, teach the poses that I love, and show my students that they are strong and capable of achieving whatever it is that they want.  On their yoga mat and off.

Many people love yoga and once they become a teacher and step into that teacher role it’s like they become something else.  They try too hard to be that  idea of a yoga teacher when really  they are already perfect when they are just themselves! Yoga teaches me to go with the flow and that’s one of the reasons why I love teaching a flowing vinyasa yoga class.  We just go with what life throws at you!

I bring this up because I met a teacher from another studio this week who told me that one of the reasons he loved my class was because it was fun and I was myself. Who else would I be??? I love what I do and life is fun and exciting so why try to make it something else?

Just thought I’d share my thoughts!

I hope you’ve had an amazing week!
