Hi! How is your weekend so far??? I don’t know about you- but I love the weekends.  And this is the first one without any yoga teaching in weeks.  Yay!

I hope you liked my last post with the spotlight on Meaghan. She’s awesome.

This week ended up being totally gorgeous and nice and as I have said before- I am totally in love with the fall weather.  Even though it can be a bit chilly- I just love the crisp and cool air with the sun shinning on your face.  I love, love, love it. Now who wants to drive me to the pumpkin patch?

Before I go into what I have planned to ramble on about on here today- I have to show you something hilarious.

Yes-that’s me in Tarjayyyy trying on a hot dog Halloween costume.  I’m still shocked that no one came to yell at me because I was laughing so loud at my friend B and I in these ridiculous outfits.  Some of them were $70!  And am I dressing up this year? Probably not.  I don’t really dress up anymore unless I have something specific to go to.  So no- I didn’t buy the wiener outfit.  Lol

But here are a few more for you enjoyment.

**Something to think about**

So I started watching this new HBO show called Enlightened.  It’s pretty funny and a bit quirky and it’s basically about a woman  who had bit of a breakdown, went off and did some soul searching and meditating, and comes back to her real life. There’s only 2 episodes so far- but what I really  like about the show is that it portrays the literal “path or enlightenment” so realistically.  I know a lot of you think that enlightenment talk is hippieish and hokey- but what it really means it you are trying live a good, peaceful, honest, kind, and loving life in the best way possible.

Finding and living that life is hard.  It take practice.  In the show the main character Amy (played by Laura Dern) comes back from treatment and has a brand new out look on life- and she’s calm, easy going and loves everyone.  However, that doesn’t always last when she’s having  panics at her corporate job and is fighting with her mother.  I think people have such a hard time trying to change their state of mind because it takes work.  It doesn’t happen over night.  You have to practice.  You have to choose whether you’re going to have a bad attitude because you hate your job or the relationship your in, or if you’re going to make a plan to get a new job and get out of the relationship and move on.  Change is hard work and we all know it- that’s why we don’t like it.

Change will come.  Maybe not today.  Maybe not tomorrow.  But it will come.  You have to believe. I close my eyes and see a better world…people there are fearless and connected…I’m there.  I’m free.  And this earth itself is healed and there nothing suffers.  ~Amy on Enlightened

That’s a quote from the end of the second episode.  I love it because it’s so true!  I know a lot of us think that enlightenment talk is out there crazy talk.  But I think it’s good to check in with yourself and see what you can do to relax your mind a little bit.  Like everything else in life, it takes effort, time and commitment.

Watch your thoughts; they become words.
Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits.
Watch your habits; they become character.
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.
