HI there- look who came to yoga class tonight? I think it was a miracle from a higher power in the universe that got M to come yoga tonight! ![]()
I taught class this am and had a great group of yoginis and yogis that were ready to brave the heat which was 90 degrees at 9 am.
Here’s Sarah (in the blue) and Laura (in the stripes). They are two close friends and very dedicated yoginis. Sarah is traveling to Prague for 2 months to study for the summer!! I will miss you in class Sarah!!!
Then literally basked in my air conditioning for the rest of the afternoon. It was TOO hot! like 102 degrees here in the city of charm. I like it warm, but not HOT! But I had this as an afternoon treat.
Who doesn’t love watermelon!?!??
I just want to say THANK YOU to everyone who has been reading the blog and sending me such kind words of love and appreciation. It really means a lot of to and all of your support is an inspiration for me to keep the blog going and exciting!
If you are curious about blogging- it is definitely work! I love it and just being able to share my thoughts and life with every one of you is amazing but it definitely takes time to think about what you’re going to write about. However, I think it’s most important that you let your real personality come through!
I am off to NY tomorrow to Red Hook to spend the weekend with my cousin and her hubby and their 2 adorable children. It will be nice to have a little get away, have family bonding time, and to spend some time outside- they have a cabin! I am praying to some higher power that it won’t be as hot!
I don’t want to be a downer- but my cousin Carrie- who I am seeing tomorrow, is a smart and gorgeous 36 year old wife and mother of two. She was diagnosed with colon cancer and the end of last year and had to have surgery and delivery her now 8 month old 2 months early. Unfortunately, our paternal grandfather died of colon cancer so it runs in our family. Carrie and the baby- Lucy- are great and everyone is healthy and happy! But- it is obviously is scary thing. I am thinking about hosting a DONATION only class and donating all the proceeds to the Colon Cancer Foundation. Let me know what you guys think!
I tried to find a good pic of all them but I will have to take some over the weekend. Here’s little Jack.

Every morning, the world is created. Under the orange sticks of the sun the heaped ashes of the nights turn into leaves again and fasten themselves to the high branches and the ponds appear like black cloth on which painted islands of summer lilies. If it is your nature to be happy, you will swim away along the soft trails for hours, your imagination alighting everywhere. And if your spirit carries within it the thorn that is heavier than lead, if it’s all you can do to keep trudging, there is still somewhere deep within you, a beast shouting that the earth is exactly what it wanted. Each pond with its blazing lilies is a prayer heard and answered lavishly, every morning, whether or not you have ever dared to be happy. Whether or not you have ever dared to pray. ~Mary Oliver
